Good night, sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite.  What is considered a playful nursery rhyme to most of us has become a nightmare for many others.

In less than a year of Ladybug Pest Management’s start-up we have investigated at least four large infestations of bed bugs in single-family homes in Sussex County, Delaware and Wicomico County, Maryland.  All four homeowners were on fixed incomes and/or unemployed and could not afford the cost for bed bug treatment.

We have had a lot of interest in this series of posts. The fear of bed bug infestations are wide spread. From New York to Los Angeles and everywhere in between, no city is left untouched. They’re in our shopping centers, movie theaters and homes. Hopefully, our series of posts have provided some insight and useful information to protect yourself and your homes from these nasty, little, hitch hikers.

Bed bugs are making the headlines everyday. That’s why we had Dr. Ballard discussing them at the 2010 New York Pest Expo. That is also why the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) and the University of Kentucky’s Dr. Michael Potter conducted a survey to better understand the resurgence of these pests and their impact. Following is a report on that study.
