Jeff’s closing presentation, The Art and Craft of Expert Bed Bug Control focused on the importance of the PMP’s role as a craftsman.  Professionals need to be educated, well trained, focused and properly armed.  Due diligence is required to succeed in pest management in general, and bed bug control in particular.

A craftsman will assess each particular situation and develop a plan of attack according to the circumstances. Attention to detail and precision are necessary elements if you want to succeed. Successful PMPs will use a “combined arms” approach where both chemical and non-chemical options are selected.  When it comes to bed bugs, always consider vacuuming (Green Supreme, Bug Sucker, Sierra), steaming and freezing (Cryonite). Be on the look out for new, effective tools. Jeff is very optimistic about Cimi-Shield, a new 25(b) Exempt product that’s showing a lot of promise. (Come in for a briefing if you’d like to learn more).
