Just in case you didn’t know, Bug Off Pest Control Center is hosting its annual New York Pest Expo on 11-11-11! The Expo is the event of the year. We have outstanding speakers and an incredible array of exhibitors sharing their knowledge and products.  Meet one of our speakers, Louis Sorkin, BCE, Entsult Associates, Inc.  He’ll be presenting Bugs, Bugs and More Bugs: A Look at True Bugs,” a study of true bugs, members of the insect order Hemiptera. Learn basic identification skills and proper handling techniques.

Lou Sorkin, a Board Certified Entomologist, began his career at the American Museum of Natural History in 1978. He has been the treasurer for the New York Entomological Society for more than 25 years and is the founder of Entsult Associates, Inc., an entomology consulting company. A popular lecturer on medical, veterinary, and forensic entomology, Mr. Sorkin has appeared on a number of television, radio and internet interviews, he has also been a featured speaker at the New York Pest Expo for the last four years. Mr. Sorkin is one of the nation’s leading figures in the study of bed bug behavior and biology and was featured in the book “Dark Banquet” by Bill Schutt. He has co-authored various papers and abstracts dealing with spiders, flies, mites and ticks, and has a special interest in the use of insects as food, a discipline called entomophagy.
